Vi i redaksjonen ser at vi har mange lesere fra USA, noe vi syns er bemerkelsesverdig. Derfor etterlyser vi noen av dere i Amerika til å ta kontakt med oss.
Man forventer nesten at leserne av nettavisa sprer seg over både Norge, Sverige og Finland. Det er naturlig, med tanke på den geografiske historien vår.
Det man ikke forventer er at en stor del av leserne også befinner seg utenfor Europa. Vi har tatt en titt på topp 10 lista over hvilke land som har flest av leserne våre. Her er Norge på topp, ingen stor overraskelse. Andre plassen derimot, er langt mer interessant. Der ligger nemlig USA.
Historisk sett, er det ganske vanlig å finne nordmenn som er bosatt i USA, ettersom det var mye utvandring fra Norge mellom tidlig 1800-tallet og 1900-tallet. Da forlot cirka 800 000 nordmenn hjemlandet, der den største andelen dro til Amerika, og resten dro andre veier.
Siden september 2016 har man sett høye brukertall fra blant annet byen Chicago i Illinois. Dette kan være på grunn av innvandring fra Norge på 1920-tallet. På den tiden var det regnet rundt 50 000 nordmenn som var bosatt i byen, som da gjorde Chicago til den tredje største norske byen etter Oslo og Bergen.

En annen by som har hatt faste brukere i lang tid nå, er Fort Worth i Texas.
Texas er altså en kjent stat der mange norsk-amerikanere er bosatt, med så mye som 129 000 norsk-amerikanere som plasserer staten på niende plass på lista over statene med flest norsk-amerikanere, inkludert District of Columbia og Puerto Rico.
De har for øvrig en egen organisasjon som heter Norwegian Society og Texas, på norsk direkte oversatt til Det Norske Samfunnet av Texas. På deres nettside finner man mye informasjon om hvor i Texas man kan for eksempel ta norsktimer, lære om den norske kulturen, samt delta på ulike arrangementer med Norsk på Norsk som tema.
Organisasjonen ble stiftet 8. mars 1975, med slagordet We shall maintain our Norwegian heritage, som oversettes til Vi skal holde ved like vår norske arv.

Our numbers show that 50 per cent of our readers are from Norway. So where does the rest come from?
We in the editorial office are seeing that a lot of our readers comes from the United States, something we think is remarkable. Therefore, we want some of you in America to get in touch with us.
You’d think that the readers of the online paper would be spread over Norway, Sweden and Finland. That’s natural, with our geographical history in mind.
What you wouldn’t expect is that a large group of our readers is also located outside of Europe. We’ve taken a look at our top 10 list of countries with most of our users. Here, Norway’s on top, no surprise there. Our second place, on the other hand, is far more interesting. Because that is the United States of America.
Historically speaking, it is very common to find Norwegians that lives in the states, since there was a lot of emigration from Norway between the early 1800’s and 1900’s. Back then, approximately 800 000 Norwegians left their native country, where the majority went to America, and the rest travelled elsewhere.
Since September 2016 we’ve seen high numbers of users in for example the city Chicago in Illinois. This could be because of the immigration from Norway in the 1920’s. At that time, about 50 000 Norwegians was living in the city, which made Chicago the largest Norwegian city, after the norwegian cities Oslo and Bergen.

Another city thats had regular users over a long period, is Fort Worth in Texas.
Texas is a state known to have a lot of Norwegian-Americans, with around 129 000 Norwegian-Americans. That puts them at a ninth place on the list over the states with most Norwegian-Americans, including District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
They have their own organization, for that matter, that’s called Norwegian Society of Texas. On their website you can find a lot of useful information, for example about where you can take Norwegian classes, learn about the Norwegian culture, and also participate on different events with Norwegian themes.
